Happy to be

One of the best things I have done for myself as a teacher is to keep a journal. Today, I flipped back to the entry I wrote on this very day, one year ago. Words and phrases like “OH MY GOD” and “TIRED” and “WHYYYYYYYYYY do they use so much glue?!” surfaced more than just once. Oi vey.

Fast forward one year:

I’m (more than) happy to say that this is not the case as I begin my second year of teaching. In fact, I wrote words and phrases such as, “YES!” and “They get it!” and “I LOVE TEACHING!!”

THANK YOU, to all of my colleagues, students, parents and community members who make me so happy to be an art educator.

Welcome Back!

Our art room is ready to go! Now we just need some artists to fill it 🙂

This year, third, fourth and fifth grade students will have the opportunity to earn the title of “Artist of the Month!” Artists who earn this title will be selected based on their character, effort and enthusiasm in the art room. Each month, two students will be selected from each grade level, and will have their picture featured on the “Artists of the Month Board” along with a special message on the morning announcements!

Will you be the artist of this month?
