Kindergarten: Our Favorite Colors

Kindergarteners created collages with handmade papers (that they made themselves!). Our theme for this project was, “Colors in Our World.” We discussed how the exploration of color is something that connects artists all over the world and throughout time.

Kindergarten Bogolanfini-Inspired Collage

Kindergarteners have been discovering different art forms from the continent of Africa. Most recently, we looked at Bogolanfini, mud cloth art from Mali. We learned that these bold works of art are traditionally created by a team of artists. Creating real mud cloth artwork entails a very long and complex process, but we took this concept and transformed it into a lesson on repetition and printmaking.

I think they turned out so dynamic and beautiful! Great work, kinder artists!
