For the past 14 years, our school PTA has been putting together an event called “Santa’s Secret Workshop.” Families and community members are invited to the school to enjoy hands on arts and crafts activities, pictures with Santa, raffles, vendors, a book fair, a bake sale, story time with the Principal, singing Christmas carols, and so many other cool things! Kids get to make gifts for their family members at a very low cost (or no cost at all!), and can even take their gifts to the wrapping paper station to top it off.
I brought in a table top tree for the kiddos to hang their wet and gluey ornaments on to dry until they were ready to go. This event couldn’t take place without the wonderful parents and teachers who dedicated their (early) Saturday morning to the kids. (Not to mention all of the planning and preparation that takes place behind the scenes leading up to the event!)
